These topics will be covered during November:

• Be text detectives and find clues in the story about the main character's feelings.
• Choose 'and', 'but', or 'because' to join two sentences.
• Create sentences with 'and', 'but' or 'because' in the middle of them.
• Understand that vowels can be pronounced in different ways.
• Find words in the story that have the 'ar' letter group and the long /ar/ vowel sound.
• Choose interesting adjectives and use them to describe a character.
• Develop a setting for a story.
• Create a setting and character for a story.
• Organise their story into beginning, middle and end.
• Use their plan to write a story.
• Read their own writing and check it.
• Spell the words in their story correctly.
• Discuss and improve their writing.
